Is Registration of Patent is Important in UAE

A patent, it is a legal document. It is an intellectual property or right given by the government to the inventor for a set of time. When the inventor gets patent, it becomes his/her monopoly towards that invention or work and they only have rights to distribute and use of that invention.

In UAE patent were introduced in Arab world in Morocco in 1916. It is tracked by Lebanon in 1924 and then in most of the Middle East between 1940s and 50s.


Patent Registration in UAE are important for the inventor because the inventor has given their time and their mind in that invention. Their innovative mind has given some result so the inventor should register the patent. Patent is a property of the inventor, they can use it as they want. If you are an inventor and have created or invent something which is unique and has value then you should register your patent and protect it. When you register the patent you are the owner of that idea and you have monopoly for that. In UAE the patent registration process is simple, the applicant should have to fill a form, and he must have a clear idea that in which part of UAE he wants to promote the invention.
