Trademark Registration In UAE – How Does It Differ From Copyright Registration?

You can either opt for copyright or trademarkregistration in UAE.  Any litigation contesting the trademark registration in UAE can be handled in the Competition Regulation Committee (Ministry of Economy) or even the city courts. Whereas, the litigation regarding the copyright can be handled only in the city Courts.

In case there is a intellectual property rights violation with respect to the trademark registration in UAE, then there are penalties and product confiscation in the case of trademark registration.  But, in the case of copyright violation, the aspect of imprisonment also is added upon to it.
